The person behind the work
I'm Tomash Bukowiecki — a data engineer and strategist with 10+ years of hands-on experience building data infrastructure at every scale, from government agencies to enterprise telecom to early-stage companies.
Before founding Blue Ridge Dataworks, I served as Head of Data Innovation at DC's Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs (DCRA) — where I led a team that built the agency's entire data warehouse from scratch, deployed ML models to prioritize permit workloads, automated KPI reporting for the executive team, and launched public-facing dashboards serving 30,000+ users in their first month.
I've since worked as Senior Program Manager for AI Initiatives at ITG Communications — a $1.5B telecom — architecting GIS data pipelines, leading cloud migration projects, and building agent-based automation systems at enterprise scale. Most recently, I built the data integration engine and AI-powered product normalization system for a supply chain SaaS platform managing $60M+ in annual inventory.
I founded Blue Ridge Dataworks because the gap is obvious: enterprise-grade data expertise rarely makes it down to the businesses that need it most. Big firms ignore companies under $100M. Freelancers lack strategic depth. The $5M–$50M company in the middle has real data problems and no one properly equipped to solve them.
